Adult Intro to Aerial Mini Session, Ages 18+

Designed for the complete and total beginner, this class is all the basics of aerial arts. Students will find entrances and beautiful poses on the trapeze, aerial silks, hammock, lyra, while working on core strength and flexibility. No experience required.

Is this safe? What is the best choice of equipment for someone starting out in aerial? And what do all those markings on my stuff mean? How do I talk to the people working to keep me safely in the air? …Anyone starting out has questions. This class will start to provide you with answers. This class is for aerialists who want to expand their skill set and learn more about safe performer rigging from the other end of the line. Presented by performer rigger, and ETCP Recognized Trainer and Rigger, William Ian Auld. This course will focus on;
An overview of industry practices and national standards.
Introduction to the forces you generate in performance
Choosing the appropriate gear
How safely use the gear you have
Good sources for rigging information
Using the new 4:1 pulley system available at Bird’s Eye View Circus
Introduction to manual flying systems – how to work with – and be! - that someone holding the other end of your line.
Time will be also dedicated to the real world application of these principles, so while you are not required to participate in that, participants are encouraged to bring appropriate clothing to allow for aerial movement during this evening’s class.

Celebrate the coming of spring with this student and teacher showcase from the Birds Eye View Circus adult and youth programs. Performers create acts that explore their connections to the natural world using aerial arts such as silks and trapeze, with partner acrobatics, juggling, tightwire, and dance. An evening of movement that will inspire!

We are Toledo's Premier circus training and performance space offering classes in aerial and ground acrobatics for youth and adults. Our classes offer a unique fitness program that improves strength, flexibility and confidence for anyone. You do not need to be an athlete to make this your home, just a desire to try something new and work for it.
We produce circus shows inside our home building, The Collingwood Art Center which houses a beautiful domed theater that seats 560 people. You can also see our instructors and students performing at many local events, theaters and festivals around Toledo.
