Aerial silks are a fabric apparatus that are climbed, wrapped around the body, and/or tied to create dramatic drops, poses and movements in the air. Aerial silks classes will build strength, flexibility, and coordination as students gain experience.

AERIAL SILKS

LYRA/
AERIAL HOOP

The aerial hoop, also called Lyra, is a circular steel aerial apparatus, and can be used in static, spinning, or swinging aerial movement. Students in lyra classes will learn the fundamentals of various poses, while building strength and grace.

Trapeze classes focus on coordination, strength, and balance above and below the trapeze bar. This apparatus builds clean form and vocabulary in a playful environment, with options to do tricks from the bar, or wrapped in the ropes. We offer static trapeze and dance trapeze options: static trapeze hangs from two points, while dance trapeze hangs from a single point and can spin.

Sling, also called Aerial Hammock, consists of fabric hung in a loop shape. Classes focus on building core and upper body strength, mixed with poses, mounts, and choreography. All students will find moves they can do while building strength and flexibility on a fun, supportive apparatus.

SlING/AERIAL HAMMOCK

Juggling classes explore techniques, different sequences, and fun skills. We work with folks of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, to continue to train your juggling craft.

Flow Arts & Ground Skills

Hoop dance, walking globe, dragon staff, poi, and more! Students can work at their own skill level to develop their flow arts further. Join these classes to learn the basics or learn new flows for advanced students!

Combine the physical practice of yoga and acrobatics! Play with good alignment and momentum to let the “base” balance and move a partner “flyer” in different movements and shapes. It’s a low-stress, safe, and fun environment to improve fitness, balance, and communication. Students need to be comfortable getting up close and personal with another body.

FAQs

Do you have to have upper body strength to start aerial classes?

1

No! This is one of the biggest misconceptions about getting started in aerial arts. Come as you are! You will build muscles as you learn. Our classes use progressive curriculum, meaning we build upon the skills we learn, and over time, progress to new goals. Movements can be adjusted to be made easier or more difficult depending on your needs.

Is there a weight limit for the aerial equipment?

2

For everyone’s safety, we take great care in selecting aerial equipment rated to hold more than 3,000 pounds! Monthly inspections by staff and an annual inspection with a professional rigger help us make sure every body is flying safely and confidently.

HOW MUCH ARE adult CLASSES?

3

Adult aerial 4-week session packages are $90. Adult ground skills 4-week session packages are $80 or $25 for a drop-in. If interested in more than one 4-week session class, we also offer bundle discounts!

How long are classes, what is the commitment and studio schedule?

4

Classes meet once a week on their scheduled day/time. Adult aerial classes are 75 minutes and run in 4-week sessions with a one-week break afterward (no drop-ins or makeup classes at this time). Adult ground skills classes are 60 minutes and can be taken either as a 4-week session or drop-ins are available.
